Responsibilities

  • Prepare and position patients for PET scans, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the procedure
  • Operate PET imaging equipment with precision, adhering to established protocols and safety standards
  • Assist with DEXA (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) scans when applicable, providing comprehensive imaging services
  • Apply aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures, minimizing infection risks
  • Collaborate with physicians and radiologists to ensure accurate diagnostic evaluation of images
  • Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, patient information, and imaging results in compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Monitor patients’ physiology during scans, recognizing signs that may require immediate attention or adjustment

Requirements

  • Certification or licensure as a PET Technologist or equivalent qualification in nuclear medicine technology
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to nuclear medicine imaging
  • Experience performing PET scans with familiarity in DEXA scan procedures and medical imaging techniques
  • Solid understanding of diagnostic evaluation processes and the interpretation of imaging results
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control practices within a clinical setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members using clear medical terminology
  • Prior experience in nuclear medicine or related medical imaging fields is highly desirable
