St. Joseph’s Imaging is seeking an experienced Chief Technologist to provide clinical leadership and operational oversight at our Clay outpatient imaging location. This is a working leadership role for a skilled technologist who enjoys staying hands-on while guiding teams, ensuring quality, and supporting exceptional patient care.

What You’ll Do
As Chief Technologist, you’ll balance clinical expertise with department leadership, including:
Leadership & Operations
- Oversee daily imaging operations at assigned outpatient locations
- Support and guide technologists to ensure smooth workflow and patient throughput
- Coordinate staffing assignments and assist with schedule coverage
- Support onboarding, training, and mentoring of new technologists
- Approve time and manage technical supply ordering
- Serve as a clinical and operational resource for staff
Clinical & Technical Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures as needed
- Ensure proper patient positioning and imaging techniques
- Adjust imaging parameters to produce high-quality diagnostic images
- Assist radiologists and providers during procedures when appropriate
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Oversee QA/QC programs across imaging modalities
- Ensure compliance with ACR accreditation, NYS DOH, and radiation safety standards
- Enforce ALARA principles and infection prevention protocols
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation
Equipment & Department Support
- Perform routine equipment checks and basic troubleshooting
- Coordinate service and repairs with vendors
- Ensure imaging equipment remains safe and operational
What We’re Looking For
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- ARRT-registered Radiologic Technologist
- Valid New York State Radiologic Technologist License
- Associate degree required (Bachelor’s preferred)
- Advanced modality experience (CT, Mammography) preferred
- 3–5 years of diagnostic imaging experience
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
