St. Joseph’s Imaging is seeking an experienced Chief Technologist to provide clinical leadership and operational oversight at our Clay outpatient imaging location. This is a working leadership role for a skilled technologist who enjoys staying hands-on while guiding teams, ensuring quality, and supporting exceptional patient care.

What You’ll Do

As Chief Technologist, you’ll balance clinical expertise with department leadership, including:

Leadership & Operations

• Oversee daily imaging operations at assigned outpatient locations
• Support and guide technologists to ensure smooth workflow and patient throughput
• Coordinate staffing assignments and assist with schedule coverage
• Support onboarding, training, and mentoring of new technologists
• Approve time and manage technical supply ordering
• Serve as a clinical and operational resource for staff

Clinical & Technical Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic imaging procedures as needed
• Ensure proper patient positioning and imaging techniques
• Adjust imaging parameters to produce high-quality diagnostic images
• Assist radiologists and providers during procedures when appropriate

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Oversee QA/QC programs across imaging modalities
• Ensure compliance with ACR accreditation, NYS DOH, and radiation safety standards
• Enforce ALARA principles and infection prevention protocols
• Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation

Equipment & Department Support

• Perform routine equipment checks and basic troubleshooting
• Coordinate service and repairs with vendors
• Ensure imaging equipment remains safe and operational

What We’re Looking For

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• ARRT-registered Radiologic Technologist
• Valid New York State Radiologic Technologist License
• Associate degree required (Bachelor’s preferred)
• Advanced modality experience (CT, Mammography) preferred
• 3–5 years of diagnostic imaging experience
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
• BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
