| Fluoroscopic
exams are performed at most of our offices with
your comfort and privacy our main concerns at
all times. Digital fluoroscopic units make procedures
go quickly and efficiently. Digital imaging allows
the radiologist to use less radiation, while obtaining
high quality digital images. All studies will
be interpreted on the day of the examination.
PROCEDURES
AND PREPARATION:
Barium
Enema
Your
physician will give a prep kit to you when the
study is scheduled. The instructions are detailed
in the kit. If you have any questions please call
our office. It is very important these instructions
are followed correctly.
The
exam itself will take about 45 minutes.
Upper
GI Series
Nothing
by mouth after midnight the night before the exam.
Do not chew gum or smoke prior to the exam.
The
study should take about 30 minutes.
Upper
GI with Small Bowel Study
A
mild laxative the evening before, then nothing
by mouth after midnight with the Upper GI Series.
This exam can take awhile, a comfortable sweat
suit and reading material may make you more comfortable
during this exam.
